Writing Jero's Journey
A lot of novels have been written. A lot has also been written about writing novels. Hence, I do not have anything revelatory to talk about writing. However, given that I have spent the last decade and a half of my life in business and continue to see that as my primary vocation, the writing of the book was unlike any other experience I had before. And therefore, I feel compelled to document some part of it.
My year of a sabbatical
The most common question I was asked during this time was, “So what have you been up to?” And my standard answer to that was, “Oh you know, nothing much. Chilling, thinking about things, spending time with family and on my personal projects.” I always used a lot of words to answer this, in the hope that verbosity would probably compensate for the fact that I wasn’t saying anything of substance.
